Getting married in Costa Rica

Getting married on the beach, in a waterfall garden or in any other tropical paradise location in Costa Rica is spectacular!

The legal process of getting married here is also quite easy and we have a bilingual, in-house lawyer who will assist you with that process.

Legal process of getting married in Costa Rica:

  1. Two witnesses are required and cannot be family up to the third degree.
  2. Bride and groom must provide the following information: Name; Occupation; Passport number and nationality; Marital Status (if divorced, additional information is needed); Date and place of birth; Name of father and mother; Mailing address; Phone number; Email address
  3. After lawyer receives the abovementioned information, bride and groom will sign a sworn statement, in the presence of the two witnesses, and they will be man and wife! It's really that simple!
  4. Paperwork takes a few weeks and the marriage certificate will be delivered to you in a matter of weeks
