Events & Weddings Costa Rica started as a fusion of two people, two cultures and one vision – planning extraordinary weddings and events in tropical Costa Rica. Our company was born to fill a void in the wedding and event planning business in Costa Rica: to provide the personalized service that you need and deserve for your wedding or special event.

About Samantha…
While living in New York City, Samantha Kohn first came to Costa Rica to explore the endless ocean activities and the lush rainforests that she missed in city living. Little did she know that she would soon call Costa Rica home as well as the location of her own wedding.
Samantha has brought her background in marketing, client relations and event planning from years of experience while working and studying across the globe, from France to New York to California and to Costa Rica. Samantha has a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Thunderbird.
Samantha is the owner and Principal Event Planner for Events & Weddings Costa Rica and is a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. Each event is carefully planned and coordinated by owner Samantha Kohn.
Samantha has been a competitive tennis player since the age of 8 and when not planning events, can be found on the tennis court, hiking the Costa Rican mountains or volcanoes or traveling and finding more fabulous places to host events. She also enjoys spending time with her son, Matteo.
About Amedeo…
Born and raised in Costa Rica, Amedeo Gaggion’s knowledge of the country makes him one of the best resources for planning a destination wedding in Costa Rica. He has extensive knowledge of the country’s natural resources and beautiful spots for the perfect event. He will provide unlimited advice on the best spots to visit as Amedeo is our resident expert.
Amedeo has a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Costa Rica and an Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Thunderbird, where he was a Fulbright scholar. Amedeo’s experience in business management helped form the foundation of Events & Weddings Costa Rica.
Amedeo is an avid antique car collector and has a particular passion for restoring antique Mercedes-Benz cars.
About Marcia…
Marcia Camacho was born and raised in Cartago, Costa Rica and is the daughter of Costa Rican and Mexican parents. She is an artist by nature, so adds that creative touch that you need for your flower arrangements, place card setting and all other wedding details.
Marcia has a BS from ULACIT in Costa Rica and also studied and worked abroad in London, England, perfecting her English speaking skills.
She has professional training from Mexico in stained glass and enjoys making stained glass artwork for friends and family in her spare time.
About Wendy…
Wendy Abarca grew up in Atenas, in the Alajuela province of Costa Rica. She studied Literature at the University of Costa Rica and graduated with a B.S. in Advertising from the Universidad Interamericana.
Wendy currently resides in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica and is our expert of the Guanacaste region. In recent years, she worked as the Lead Graphic Designer for a newspaper and later at Hacienda Pinilla, one of the most prestigious luxury real estate projects in the country. At Hacienda Pinilla, Wendy was in charge of the resort’s special events and weddings.
She often spends her free time riding her bike, listening to music and appreciating Guanacaste’s famous sunsets.
