Mark + Ann’s Hacienda Pinilla Wedding

There is so much about this wedding (and couple!) that I love! For starters, Ann and Mark are such a sweet couple and it’s so evident how in love they are! Not to mention they are both so talented. All of the invitations, favors, programs, welcome bags…they created them all as Mark is a creative director and Ann is a freelance designer. Wow! And the details: yellow orchids, succulents and coffee beans. And the chapel and the horsedrawn carriage? Perfection! A big thank you to Comfort Studio for the amazing photos…

Perla + Jerry’s Villa Caletas Wedding

Perla and Jerry wanted their friends and family to get a taste of what Costa Rica has to offer so we planned lots of fun adventure activities for their guests including white water rafting and ziplining. They still had lots of energy for the wedding day and danced the night away to a local tropical band that played salsa and merengue and some other local favorites.

The wedding theme was ‘rustic chic’. The centerpieces were made of natural wood with purple and pink flowers. We paired it with grey tablecloths, glass chargers, purple napkins and the ever-so-chic transparent chiavari chairs.

The view from Villa Caletas is stunning!

The bride’s bouquet and bridesmaid’s bouquets tied in seamlessly with the reception decor, as did the bride’s shoes!

Felicidades to Perla and Jerry! Thank you for letting us be part of your special day!

Elizabeth + Robert’s Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica Elopement

Elizabeth and Robert traded the midwest for the beaches of Costa Rica for their romantic elopement in Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica. They rented a gorgeous villa in the hills overlooking the ocean, which made for a perfect setting for their wedding:

Gracias to the talented El Velo Photography for the photos!

Jillian + Jordan’s Playa Prieta Beach Club Wedding Costa Rica

Jillian & Jordan’s Wedding

I had the pleasure of meeting Jillian and Jordan several months ago when they flew down to Costa Rica to visit The Four Seasons and Playa Prieta Beach Club. They loved the property and immediately booked their return tickets for a July wedding. Friends and family came all the way from Israel and the US for their wedding weekend.

The weekend started off with a trip to a volcano and hot springs. The guests also enjoyed the beautiful golf course at The Four Seasons, relaxing spa treatments and a welcome dinner in Playas del Coco.

Playa Prieta Beach Club is one of my favorite venues in Costa Rica. The setting cannot be beat. It’s lush, intimate and simply beautiful.

On their wedding day, Jillian and Jordan signed the ketubah before their ceremony, as is custom in Jewish weddings. Prior to signing the ketubah, Jordan and Jillian shared an intimate moment at the beach club when they saw eachother for the first time. I love these first look photos:

For the signing of the ketubah, Jillian and Jordan were surrounded by lots of love:

For the colors for the ceremony, the bride chose whites, greens and purple to add that pop of color:

As you can see, the green blended in nicely with the natural surroundings:

We had this cute sign made for the wedding. Guests could go barefoot or opt for the purple and white flip flops:

Some of my favorite shots:

After a local duo played, a live band performed followed by a fire show and then a DJ to top off the evening:

Yep, it’s official – they are married! Mazel Tov, Jillian & Jordan!

A special thank you to El Velo Photography for providing these beautiful photos!

Dena & Shane’s Wedding Featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs!

For Dena and Shane’s wedding at Pacifico Beach Club, we didn’t want to take away from the natural beauty of the setting. We had a clean palette of white and blue, featuring hydrangeas and orchids and lots of candles. The napkins and linens were custom ordered to match with her colors of choice!

Jennifer + Ashraf’s Manuel Antonio Costa Rica Wedding

Jennifer and Ashraf wed at the stunning villa, Punto de Vista, in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Jennifer had quite the eye for design and floral decor and everything was perfect from the custom-made linens to the napkin selection to the place cards and each and every last detail. Thank you Ale Sura for the gorgeous photos!

The venue, Punto de Vista:

I am in love with this set-up!

Lots of orchids…

For the menu, the bride and groom wanted to tie in a little of the groom’s Egyptian heritage so offered falafel and ras el hanout shrimp and chicken.

And lots of tropical drinks, including passionfruit and green tea mojitos and watermelon slush with guava

The bride and the groom – gorgeous pics!

And it wouldn’t be a party without the belly dancer and the Arabic music

Whitney + Ryan’s Playa Conchal Costa Rica Wedding

Whitney and Ryan had a 3 day wedding extravaganza at Playa Conchal, starting with a laid-back pool party for their guests and ending with a fun-filled wedding at Reserva Conchal. Kudos to Sylvia Guardia, who captured every single moment of this wonderful wedding weekend!

Some photos from the days leading up to the wedding…

What a cool and fun couple!

The Royal Wedding – How to add royal touches to your Costa Rican Wedding

News | 1 May 2011

Ah the royal wedding. A commoner marrying a Prince. A gorgeous bride, a dashing groom and a fairytale wedding.

You are planning your Costa Rican wedding and are wondering, how can I add royal touches to my own wedding?

1) The horsedrawn carriage - Check! Wave to your guests and onlookers as you ride away with your husband!

2) The wedding dress perfect for a princess.

A lighter weight lace dress also fit for a princess, but a princess getting married in the tropics.

3) The demi-chignon

Kate wore her hair half-up in a demi-chignon. She also had a tiara that was lent by the Queen.

If the Queen isn’t going to lend you a tiara, perhaps you could add a tropical touch by putting orchids in your hair.

Tami & Nick- A Zephyr Palace Costa Rica Wedding

Purple and white flowers

It rained for a few minutes but dried up in time to have the ceremony outside:

The sunset was so beautiful that no one wanted to head inside! Gorgeous group shot with lights on pillars…

Inspiration board – a Rustic Caribbean wedding in Puerto Viejo

News | 18 February 2011

I wanted to share this fabulous inspiration board that one of my brides made. This is for her rustic-themed Caribbean wedding in Puerto Viejo. Inspiration boards are great ideas for the bride, the planner and the florist (or anyone else involved in the design) to execute what the bride envisioned for her wedding.
