A special birthday celebration: Road Trip to Costa Rica

News, Special Events | 29 January 2011

Costa Rica is a popular destination not only to get married but also to come on a family trip or for a special event. For the past year and a half I have been planning a 50th birthday celebration extravaganza for Laura. Laura wanted a once-in-a-lifetime trip for her 10 best friends that she invited from the US for a week-long stay in this tropical paradise. I will be blogging about their road trip to Costa Rica all week as they make their way through Costa Rica!

1st stop: The Jungle – Lapa Rios
Highlights of Lapa Rios: Declared one of the most biologically intense places on earth by National Geographic Magazine
Activities: Hiking in the rainforest, exotic animal sightings, rappelling down waterfalls.

2nd stop: The volcano – Arenal
Highlights of Arenal: One of the 10 most active volcanoes in the world!
Activities: Hiking in volcano, natural hot springs, horseback riding, waterfalls, hanging bridges and zipline tour.

3rd stop: The beach- Punta Islita
Activities: Surf lessons, kayaking, Costa Rican cooking class, Spa and relaxation and meet and greet with local schoolchildren.

Wedding Planner Costa Rica: Why hire a wedding planner? Because they are resourceful!

News | 25 November 2010

About a month ago, I had a bride-to-be contact me for a wedding in two weeks. Yes, that’s right, a wedding in 2 weeks. I was able to hire the photographer, music, officiant and florist during that short time period as wedding planners are resourceful! I acted quickly, of course, and as I have been planning events for some time, I have several vendors that I work with, making it quick and easy to plan an event with short notice. So why not hire a wedding planner for  your wedding in Costa Rica?!

Lindsay & Chris Playa Conchal Costa Rica Wedding

Beach weddings, News | 20 November 2010

Lindsay and Chris and their closest family and friends celebrated barefoot on Playa Conchal. I love that beach! Colors were fuschia and royal blue. After cocktails on the beach, the guests headed back to their private villa for a BBQ, Costa Rican style. This couple, from Canada, was so laid-back and pura vida! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to plan your fun and relaxed wedding! Photos by Eduardo Lopez.

Filipa and Marcel wed at the beautiful Los Suenos resort on a (mostly) sunny day. There was a little rainfall, but it didn’t stop these two. Everything was lovely! Photos provided by Ronald Roman.

The Best of 2010 High Season!

2010 high season was a great one and was filled with lots of colors, cultures and beautiful details. Here are some of our favorite details:

Lauren & Kyle’s Villa Caletas Costa Rica Wedding

Lauren and Kyle were such a lovely couple and it was clear that they were very much in love. They were also a lot of fun, as were the guests, who came all of the way from New York to celebrate! The rehearsal dinner was held on the terrace overlooking the lush gardens and Pacific Ocean at the Marriott Los Suenos. On the wedding day, which was held at Villa Caletas ampitheater, we could not have been luckier with the rain-free day in August! I loved all of the colors at the reception: purple, white and green orchids in bamboo vases; white cala lilies; pink ginger flowers; burlap runners and bamboo chairs to complete the tropical meets rustic look! I love rustic chic weddings in Costa Rica!! Photos courtesy of the very talented destination wedding photographer, Jeremie Barlow!

Let’s face it: a wedding can be stressful! Trying to please the families and the friends can be difficult. How nice would it be to have someone alleviate that stress? That’s right — a wedding planner will make planning both fun and stress-free and can field questions from guests so the bride and the groom can be relaxed and happy!
