Maria del Mar & Tobias – Puerto Viejo Costa Rica Wedding
Ahhh the Caribbean. So laid back and so beautiful. Just like this lovely couple who said I do in Puerto Viejo!
I absolutely love these rustic wedding signs! And in multiple languages to boot as the groom is from Denmark and the bride from Costa Rica.
The shoe check. Guests checked in their shoes and traded them for some flip flops for the beach ceremony. They also grabbed a sun umbrella, water, sunscreen and a flower for their hair (for the ladies!).
Guests came from all over the world!
Cheers in all of the guests native languages:

Brittany & Jonathan A Private Villa in Playa Hermosa Costa Rica Wedding
Brittany & Jonathan were married at Jonathan’s family’s gorgeous home in Hermosa Palms. This beachfront property could not have been more perfect for a wedding. The groom made a grand entrance as he arrived in a helicopter and then he took his bride on a ride to enjoy the scenery after they said I do. Photos provided by Daniel Marks.
Tami & Nick- A Zephyr Palace Costa Rica Wedding
What beats getting married in a palace on the top of a hill overlooking the ocean and the jungle?! Here are some photos from Tami + Nick’s beautiful wedding at Zephyr Palace. Photos courtesy of Eduardo Lopez.
Purple and white flowers
It rained for a few minutes but dried up in time to have the ceremony outside:
The sunset was so beautiful that no one wanted to head inside! Gorgeous group shot with lights on pillars…

Maria & Jonathan’s Mal Pais Costa Rica Wedding
Maria & Jonathan picked the beautiful beach of Mal Pais for their wedding, and the setting could not have been more appropriate for this young, adventurous couple. A private beachfront residence served as the venue for the event, with the ceremony being held in a small grassy area that separated the house from the beach, offering a magnificent ocean backdrop that required no further decoration.
The ceremony, officiated by the groom’s brother, was one of the most romantic and moving ceremonies I have ever witnessed; all the guests, which were mostly family, were crying with joy.
The sunset was beautiful! Here are some sunset shots of the bride and groom:
After cocktail hour and enjoying the beautiful sunset, the guests dined on delicious food in the garden under the trees with lots of candles and string lights. Beautiful and intimate! Photos courtesy of Richard May.
Jared & Liz Hacienda Pinilla Costa Rica Wedding
I had the pleasure of meeting with Jared and Liz a few times before their wedding. They love Costa Rica that much that they came down to visit several times! It was such a treat to get to know them before their wedding. What a lovely and in love couple. The wedding reflected their laid-back style with rustic wood centerpieces and lots of color – from the flowers to the lanterns to the candles. And what says pura vida more than a surf lesson the day after your wedding?! Congrats and Mazel Tov Jared and Liz and can’t wait to see you again soon! Photos from Julie Comfort!
Loren & Orestes Villa Caletas Costa Rica Wedding
Loren & Orestes’s wedding was a romantic and elegant affair at Villa Caletas. From the centerpieces to the fabric draping the railings in the ampitheater to the bridal bouquet, red was the color of choice. We brought more earthy tones to the reception venue with brown linens and chairs. And of course, a pop of other colors and candles galore. Photos provided by Fino Photography.
Tanya & Travis Playa Hermosa Costa Rica Wedding
Wedding: Hotel Playa Hermosa Bosque del Mar
I have to start off this post by saying that the bride, Tanya, is also from the great state of Wisconsin (like yours truly!) So we clicked from the get-go and had a blast planning her wedding. She, like me, is very organized and detail-oriented!
It didn’t take long for this group to settle into the Costa Rican lifestyle of catamaran and snorkeling expeditions, ziplining, soaking in volcanic mud and horseback riding by the waterfalls. The wedding day was clear and warm as the couple said ‘I do’ on the beach at Playa Hermosa. The reception had a tropical rustic feel with the colors being blue and white with a splash of coral. Michelle & Charlie Playa Potrero Costa Rica Wedding
Wedding: Private villa, Playa Potrero
The bride is so artistic and creative so I knew from the get-go this wedding was going to be gorgeous. She had a wonderful sense of style and it was fun to co-design her wedding. Her color palette was yellow, grey and a splash of pink. Charlie is from Puerto Rico and Michelle is from Singapore, bringing culture and traditions as well! Photos provided by Comfort Studio.
