Loren & Orestes

Loren & Orestes’s wedding was a romantic and elegant affair at Villa Caletas. From the centerpieces to the fabric draping the railings in the ampitheater to the bridal bouquet, red was the color of choice. We brought more earthy tones to the reception venue with brown linens and chairs. And of course, a pop of other colors and candles galore. Photos provided by Fino Photography.

Kay & Thomas

Zephyr Palace

What a beautiful wedding rich with traditions! Kay, whose family is from Taiwan, brought lanterns for each and every guest, so the guests could engage in a Chinese lantern ceremony. While the guests wrote their wishes on the paper lanterns and watched them fly away into the Costa Rican jungle, they all toasted to a traditional Norwegian drink, Akevitt, in honor of Thomas’ heritage. The photos will tell the whole story. What an honor to be able to work with Ben Chrisman Photography, recently voted the top wedding photographer in the world!!

Susan & Dave

Ceremony: Los Suenos Beach Club
Reception: Marriott Los Suenos, Playa Herradura

Orchids, orchids and more orchids. Green, white and a splash of purple. The ceremony decor was my absolute favorite: bamboo poles with sheer fabric blowing in the wind and dangling orchids on the beautiful white sand beach. The reception decor followed the same theme of bamboo and lots of orchids with a touch of elegance for the ballroom setting. The bride carried a bouquet of white phalaenopsis orchid stems, inspired by the wedding bouquet of Eva Longoria. There were so many fabulous pictures (Courtesy of Ronald Roman), that I couldn’t resist. I had to share them all!

Devon & Jamey

Wedding: Zephyr Palace
Rehearsal dinner: Los Suenos Beach Club

The April 4th wedding of Devon and Jamey was the culmination of a 3-day friends and family reunion, where loved ones spent time together discovering the beauty of Costa Rica. Out-of-country guests arrived to find welcome bags full of coffee liqueur, chocolate-covered coffee beans and a fabulous weekend itinerary. On the weekend agenda were ziplining, horseback riding, surf lessons and a welcome dinner at a private beach club.

The ceremony was held in a picture-perfect setting with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Guests dined on local favorites, such as fried plantain with bacon, while a flamenco guitar duo played in the background. The grand finale of the cocktail hour included a fireworks show and that was certainly not the only entertainment of the evening! After dinner and dancing, the bride and groom surprised the guests with a comparsa, which kept the party going with their drums and dancers. What a perfect way to end the night!

Felicidades to Devon and Jamey!

Veronica & Michael

Wedding: Villa Caletas
Rehearsal dinner: El Pelicano

They danced, they laughed, they danced some more… The guests simply did not want the party to end, an indication that the ‘fiesta’ was a major success! It was a fabulous wedding and celebration of the love that Veronica and Michael share. We were honored to plan their wedding weekend and meet so many wonderful people, who came from California and Chicago!

Stephanie & Richard

Wedding: Villa Caletas

They were thrilled to be in Costa Rica for their wedding weekend which was both fun and intimate, as they shared it with close family and friends.

The rehearsal dinner was at an authentic Costa Rican restaurant right on the beach and the food was spectacular. Guests drank local beer including Imperial, Bavaria and Pilsen and ate lobster that was caught earlier in the day– you certainly cannot beat that.

The zipline tour is not to be missed, and almost every single wedding guest decided to join in on the fun and swing through the jungle.

Check out the pictures below to get a snapshot of the wedding day. Thanks to Sarah of Fino Photography! The bride loves orchids, so their centerpiece was filled with green and purple orchids as well as other local flowers like bright pink ginger and green mums. The bride went with a classy cala lily bouquet and the maid of honor went a more tropical route, with a bouquet filled with a wide array of colorful flowers. The tropical band was a hit for the guests, who mostly came from Chicago, and got everyone on the dance floor to the beat of salsa, merengue and of course, to classic American music. As the wedding did take place overlooking the ocean, a beach theme was in order as the namecard holder was filled with shells and sand, which was both tropical and fun.

It was an honor to plan and be a part of Stephanie and Richard’s wedding weekend!

Here are some cake and flower details. A mix of cala lilies for the bridal bouquet and tropical flowers for the maid of honor bouquet, centerpieces and cake decor.

Billy & Rachanna

Wedding: Villa Caletas
Rehearsal dinner: Colinas Condominums

It was a pleasure to welcome Billy and Rachanna to Costa Rica for the first time for their wedding weekend. They were a wonderful couple who thoroughly enjoyed the ‘pura vida’ lifestyle while in Costa Rica.

The weekend started with a BBQ at a private pool area, where they welcomed guests from Chicago and New York to Costa Rica. Several guests went on the canopy tour the day of the wedding (groom included!) and the wedding took place at sunset, in a spectacular setting. The guests danced the night away, under the stars, to a mix of American and Latin music.

They chose colorful, tropical flowers native to Costa Rica – maracas, birds of paradise, sexy pink and several varieties of orchids as well as name cards and table numbers made out of banana paper – another great way to add local flair.

Emily & Dave

Wedding: Zephyr Palace
Rehearsal dinner: Rain Forest Aerial Tram

The couple said ‘I Do’ adjacent to an infinity pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the tropical jungle. The sunset could not have been more beautiful as they exchanged vows and rings in front of 80 friends and family from the US and Costa Rica.

The weekend festivities began on Thursday with a welcome cocktail at sunset. Guests enjoyed a canopy tour, tram ride through the rainforest, nature walk, ‘typical’ Costa Rican food and a marimba group in the days leading up to the wedding. The bride and groom wanted to introduce some local flavor at the wedding as dancers arrived to demonstrate some of the most popular dances of Costa Rica.

Emily & Dave really wanted guests to get a feel of the local music, food and culture as they embraced all things Costa Rican. The flowers were colorful and tropical, featuring ginger, heliconias and orchids.
