Elizabeth + Robert’s Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica Elopement

Elizabeth and Robert traded the midwest for the beaches of Costa Rica for their romantic elopement in Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica. They rented a gorgeous villa in the hills overlooking the ocean, which made for a perfect setting for their wedding:

Gracias to the talented El Velo Photography for the photos!

Jennifer + Ashraf’s Manuel Antonio Costa Rica Wedding

Jennifer and Ashraf wed at the stunning villa, Punto de Vista, in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. Jennifer had quite the eye for design and floral decor and everything was perfect from the custom-made linens to the napkin selection to the place cards and each and every last detail. Thank you Ale Sura for the gorgeous photos!

The venue, Punto de Vista:

I am in love with this set-up!

Lots of orchids…

For the menu, the bride and groom wanted to tie in a little of the groom’s Egyptian heritage so offered falafel and ras el hanout shrimp and chicken.

And lots of tropical drinks, including passionfruit and green tea mojitos and watermelon slush with guava

The bride and the groom – gorgeous pics!

And it wouldn’t be a party without the belly dancer and the Arabic music

Alyssa & Andy A Private Villa in Dominical Costa Rica Wedding

Brittany & Jonathan A Private Villa in Playa Hermosa Costa Rica Wedding

Brittany & Jonathan were married at Jonathan’s family’s gorgeous home in Hermosa Palms. This beachfront property could not have been more perfect for a wedding. The groom made a grand entrance as he arrived in a helicopter and then he took his bride on a ride to enjoy the scenery after they said I do. Photos provided by Daniel Marks.

Maria & Jonathan’s Mal Pais Costa Rica Wedding

Maria & Jonathan picked the beautiful beach of Mal Pais for their wedding, and the setting could not have been more appropriate for this young, adventurous couple. A private beachfront residence served as the venue for the event, with the ceremony being held in a small grassy area that separated the house from the beach, offering a magnificent ocean backdrop that required no further decoration.

The ceremony, officiated by the groom’s brother, was one of the most romantic and moving ceremonies I have ever witnessed; all the guests, which were mostly family, were crying with joy.

The sunset was beautiful! Here are some sunset shots of the bride and groom:

After cocktail hour and enjoying the beautiful sunset, the guests dined on delicious food in the garden under the trees with lots of candles and string lights. Beautiful and intimate! Photos courtesy of Richard May.

Lindsay & Chris Playa Conchal Costa Rica Wedding

Beach weddings, News | 20 November 2010

Lindsay and Chris and their closest family and friends celebrated barefoot on Playa Conchal. I love that beach! Colors were fuschia and royal blue. After cocktails on the beach, the guests headed back to their private villa for a BBQ, Costa Rican style. This couple, from Canada, was so laid-back and pura vida! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to plan your fun and relaxed wedding! Photos by Eduardo Lopez.

Michelle & Charlie Playa Potrero Costa Rica Wedding

Wedding: Private villa, Playa Potrero

The bride is so artistic and creative so I knew from the get-go this wedding was going to be gorgeous. She had a wonderful sense of style and it was fun to co-design her wedding. Her color palette was yellow, grey and a splash of pink. Charlie is from Puerto Rico and Michelle is from Singapore, bringing culture and traditions as well! Photos provided by Comfort Studio.

Beth & Matt Playa Potrero Costa Rica Wedding

Rehearsal dinner: Bahia del Sol
Wedding: Private house, Playa Potrero

When Beth and Matt contacted me several months ago to help plan and design their wedding, they told me that they wanted a low-key and laid-back beach town for their wedding weekend. Playa Potrero was perfect for them as it has that relaxed, pura vida kind of vibe. Friday night was the rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Bahia del Sol. A pig roast, coco loco drinks for the guests, a cigar roller, white lanterns overhead and purple orchids decorating the tables. The reception had a ‘romantic beach’ theme with tiki torches, candles galore, silver linens and chairs, and the perfect pop of color with purple hydrangeas. To top things off, a fireworks show and a delicious dessert bar with bride and groom cookies, red velvet cake and a tropical fruit salad. Photos provided by Fino Photography!

The Rehearsal dinner: Coco loco drinks, Costa Rican cigars and an unbelievable sunset

Annie & Christian Playa Junquillal Costa Rica Wedding

Wedding: Private Villa, Playa Junquillal

Annie & Christian’s love story goes back 15 years. Their love story with Costa Rica is almost just as long, as they started coming to this tropical paradise several years ago. Their favorite beach town for surfing and relaxing is Playa Junquillal, the location of their nuptials. They rented a private villa with an incredible view of the ocean and white sand beaches. Annie is very creative and actually made her own flower arrangements! Their group of 65 friends surely knew how to have a good time. The photos by Comfort Studio are stunning!

Christina & Jason Playa Conchal Costa Rica Wedding

Wedding: Reserva Conchal
Rehearsal dinner: Dragonfly

I was able to witness one of the most beautiful ceremonies on the beach at Playa Conchal as Christina and Jason, both from Alabama, said ‘I Do’. This ceremony was exemplary of why Costa Rica is such an amazing place to get married. The sun set, the sky turned different shades of pink and guests sipped green cocktails while barefoot in the sand. The color theme of the entire event was white and green, with the green orchid and white cala lily theme making for the perfect combination. Guests dined under the stars at their private villa…a night to be remembered!
